I wasn't exactly sure if I should re-do my character and such considering that I'm starting anew..but I suppose I probably should. This is Midori...again, but a whole new person.
Your character's name: Midori Usagi
Nationality: Fire Nation
Bending skills: Firebender
Character's age: 16
Gender: Female
Short description:
- Biography: Midori had parents who were firebenders, though she was raised cleverly in the Earth Kingdom. Her father was a well-respected general and was part of the seige to take Ba Sing Se. Because of that he had moved his family to the target spot, buying his time carefully while waiting for further instructions from the Admiral and others fully in charge of the plan. It is delicate, her mother had claimed whenever Midori would ask why they weren't back "home". Your father's always busy, Dori, and you must respect that. Don't question his line of duty, his loyalty, ever again. But she hadn't done that of course. Her question was merely a question of no importance and Midori had never fully understood why her mother was so snappish about it. She never even had the chance to ask once more.
She was brought up to be loyal to the Fire Lord, but she wasn't much of a hater for the other benders and citizens either. Due to that fact, Midori grew up happy and popular among her peers at Ba Sing Se. Yet Midori didn't know that her mother, of all people, was up to something. She couldn't have understood that her mother didn't like what her dad was up to, working on bringing the Earth Kingdom down after the assualts on the Water Tribes. But when the girl turned 16, she eventually realized that her parents were two completely different people. Her father, a powerful general loyal to the Fire Nation working to bring the Earth King down, was just as surprised as his daughter was. Midori's mother? Joining the resistence, helping those who helped the Avatar, working to bring Ozai down. Quite the opposite of what her father was expecting. In fact when the day came, when Midori herself was forced to run away from her home, to go live with her cousins at the Fire Nation, and to abandon her parents at one of their most important events yet.
The news came the next day after the young firebender unpacked her bags at Tamiko's, her firebending cousin. Ba Sing Se was captured, the Earth Kingdom down at last. Yet the Earth King was nowhere to be found. Despite all of the fuss over where Avatar Aang and his friends were, Midori found her new life to be quite refreshing. It helped her with her mental unstablility, of how much she'd think of where her parents were, of what would happen to Ozai. She might still be a Fire Nation girl, one that was loyal to Ozai down to the end of time, down to when the Avatar finally won, but she still had the heart of those in the Earth Kingdom. Midori knew and understood that what her mother was up to was, in fact, the right thing.
- Appearance: Her figure is that of what a teenage girl would love to have; slim, tall, and of course fit. Midori isn't the type who sits back and acts like a 'couch potato'. She spends the majority of her time training, either being helped by Tamiko, who is 20, and an experianced firebender, or teaching her younger cousin, Ruri, just a beginner. Overall though, Midori has shoulder-length chocolate brown hair with expressive blue-gray eyes. Occasionally she'd paint her face white, or with the normal Kyoshi Warrior paint and clothing, just to feel what they feel to become the right "warrior". She's normally spotted in Fire Nation clothing, either some kind of red haltertop and maroon shorts, or a Fire Nation gown, one that she detests. But Tamiko, being the talkative type, would often drag her to parties of Fire Lord Zuko himself and force her to dress as a civilized person should. Her cousin had, after all, determined her to be just like those "earth teenagers".
- Personality: One word that'd describe Midori would be the word "understanding". Or perhaps even "friendly". She isn't the type for chit-chat or gossip, but she loves being the center of attention. However Midori's main characteristics would be the sense of calm, and the sense of authority. Though, of course, she is educated. When she isn't training or doing something helpful and calming, she's either studying or carrying out productive means. It was how she was brought up, so no one can blame her habits!
An RP example: Autumn leaves tumbled gently on the ground, making crunching noises as feet thudded lightly on them. Normal people would find the sound facinating, or addicting, or at least something pleasent. But not Midori. She didn't care for autumn because the season summer was what she loved. Summer. It was the time of green and when all firebenders recieve their deserved power from the heat, the sun. Without a doubt, Midori loved to absorb its radiations, its rich sense of belonging and energy, pulsing through her whole entire body like some kind of amplifier. No absorber took a part within when it was hot, when the weather was a perfect sky blue and the temperature scathing. Midori needed all the power she could get.
But...autumn. She wrinkled her nose at that word as she marched up the slopes to her towering cottage. Fall meant clouds, the dropping of temperature. No heat. No warm fuzziness from the sun. Late autumn was, obviously, the worst. It was usually the type that reflected to that of winter, Midori's worst nightmare...rival...enemy. But then again, winter was great for most waterbenders. The girl snorted with laughter at that thought. Of course it was. Opposite elements.
She shook her head, brown hair blowing around her face wildly. Her hands were dirty, her Fire Nation clothes muddy and ripped, her hair knotted in places. How was she going to explain this to Tamiko? Ruri would like her cousin's roughed up appearance of course. Midori smiled. Ruri had always reminded her of herself, at times...when she wasn't being annoying. And Midori was definitely not annoying. She knew when to respect privacy, when to act and when to speak. Yet she also knew that she craved freedom, the ability to roam around without being seen and without to worry about anything. Secretly Midori would do that, but Tamiko somehow would always find out. And then came the scolding and complaining.
Midori sighed, placing her fingertips on the brass handle of the front door. So what would Tamiko say? Most likely something that had to do with improper behavior, although she shouldn't be talking. Hypocrite, the girl chastised firmly, half irritated and half amused. She wasn't the one partying - Tamiko was. But thinking bad thoughts on her cousin, her new guardian, was being kind of stupid. And hyprocritical. A grin latched almost unwillingly on her lips as those words ran through her mind. Here she was, standing on the front porch, debating on whether or not she'd have to face another ridiculously long speech of teenage girls and their idiotic behavior while she could just walk inside and find out for herself. Aways the analyzer. Midori mused as she twisted the knob to her right. Time to get some answers. [/blockquote]
