Sayuri listened to Sachi as the water wall loomed ahead of them. She flung her paddle to the floor as Sachi took over protecting the sails. Sayuri raced to the bow of the boat and stood on the end, bracing herself as she thought up an idea. Sayuri reached deep for the sand so far below them and was only able to bring up a small amount. The ocean was getting too deep. Suddenly, she spotted a few islands about a half kilometer away and stomped her foot on the side of the boat, causing it to lean to the left. As it tipped, she reached out with her arms and pulled tightly, bending some of the faraway rocks off the island and hurtling towards their boat. She stomped on the other side, pushing the boat back to a level position. With the rock she had bended, Sayuri hurled them towards Heion's boat like cannonballs. They slammed inches away from their boat, and Sayuri gritted her teeth as each one missed by a margin. With the last two rocks, she slammed them together and formed a cloud of sand and dust. She bended them, arms outstreached, towards the boat a few hundred meters ahead of them. The cloud tore into the sails, puncturing hundreds of tiny holes which Sayuri knew would widen from the pressure of the wind that was helping to propel the boat. "Lets see you handle that," Sayuri said with a small smile as she lowered her aching arms.

"Alright, time to do something they can't do ANYTHING about!" Heion called out, smiling triumphantly.
He, once again, began pushing the boat forward at a frantic pace so that it would maintain speed as his focus went elsewhere. As quickly as he could, he raised an ENORMOUS platform of ice under, around, and, especially high, in front of the opponents' boat. He continued his foggy swamp bending, but, as he did so, simultaneously continued freezing the water farther and farther in front of the opponents' boat, creating a series of interconnected, min-icebergs. THAT was quite a detour they'd have to take.
It was then that Sayuri's attack came. Heion did what he could with the water around them, but could really only defend himself and Rhino, leaving the sails to take a beating. It didn't matter though. As long as he could use his foggy swamp bending, he could propel the boat forward at a pace faster than any earthbender could sail.

Rhino stood in shock, as the cloud of dust and sand shot microscopic holes in their sails. It sounds like nothing, but it looked like there were a million of holes. Rhino climbed up on the holes, exhausted, and looked around for another source of sand. He decided to steal Sayuri's source. He bended a strand of sand (Hey, that rhymes!) from the island and sent it hurtling at their own sale. It connected with the holes, and blended it together. They were moving again. Rhino bended another strand an sent it at their sail, cutting it rapildy. "Your turn!" Rhin said, to the boat behind them.

Sachi grimaced as Heion made his move, but she was still smiling as Sayuri made her move. Bending, Sachi also made a huge dust of sand in front, behind, and to the sides of the boat so dust surrounded them everywhere they went. She waited impatiently for the dust and sand to form a huge ring around the boat and then clasped her hands together. The sand immediately formed into a giant ring with sand spikes surrounding the boat. Smirking at Heion’s icebergs, Sachi felt a bit nervous but she charged on without hesitation. “Sayuri, Leon, let’s go get the icebergs!” She aimed huge balls of metal from the doors and let it break down the ice. “Beat that.” Sachi muttered as she returned her gaze back at the thorny ring surrounding the boat.

A ring? That's a pretty lame idea for an attack. If it could attack from all angles, it would be great, but the boat only needed to go through one side. Heion pulled up quick scythe-like chunks of water from the ocean and cut through a small section of the ring, opening a path for them. He then continued his cycle of foggy swamp and ice-making. This kept them moving forward AND piled ice up to replace the ice that they were smashing through.
"Do they honestly think that they can smash through the ice faster than I can make more?" Heion asked Rhino.
Even if they could, there was a lot more ice in front of them. Eventually, they would have to slow down to break through the ice before crashing into it.

"NICE ONE!" Rhino yelled to Heion. He turned to watch Sachi bend a spiky sharp ring around their boat. Rhino stood wondering if they were going to challenge Heion's magnificent strategy. Rhino had recieved his answer. Rhino saw that Sachi bended metal balls out of the door in their boat, and sent it flying at the ice, cracking it into pieces. "NO!" Rhino said, running to the edge of the boat, his hands laced on the edges. Rhino noticed that their sail was still ripped to pieces, and he smirked at this. He bended a large amount of sand from the island, and pushed it into the water. He created it into a dolphin shape, and made it swim at the top of the water, then he forced it to dive, and it's true shape formed: A wad of sand. He made it spin underneath Sachi's boat, and then he separated the sand into individual balls, and sent them one by one, at the bottom of the boat. Rhino kept this going, hoping to sink their boat. Then a thought burst into his mind, where was Dairou and his teammate?

"We must be getting close to the next checkpoint," Sayuri hollered as she prepared to help break through the icebergs. The ring around the boat seemed to be doing the trick, but it was taking a beating as they smashed through the ice. Sayuri bended the ring to form a thicker half circle, leaving the back of the boat unprotected. "I figured that they aren't going to attack from the behind, since that wouldn't slow us down as we go forward," Sayuri explained as the ducked the splinters and chips of ice that were flying through the air. Their boat was catching up to the others, and she could see the boys working hard on their deck. "They aren't going to be able to keep so many things up," Sayuri commented. "We have more people, which means we can control more things at a time. Including...their own elements." Sayuri twisted her wrists, yanking back on the rocks that Rhino had put in his sail to fix the holes. "Try this one out for size! I love it when your plans backfire," Sayuri taunted as she sent Rhino's sand through their sails again, enlarging the holes. "I think I'll hang on to this," she said, bending Rhino's sand into a large ball which she placed in her inner cloak pocket, which was encased in metal. She was pretty sure that Rhino couldn't bend metal, so she knew that the precious sand was safe with her. She was pleased that she had been able to undo what Rhino had done to fix his boat, but she knew that Heion's waterbending would still propel the boat. Suddenly, she felt the sand that Rhino had bent come hurtling through the deck of their boat. Sayuri spun around, capturing the sand balls as they came through and stuffed them in her pocket as well. "Great," she thought, watching the water come spilling into her boat. She raced over and wadded some of the leftover metal that Sachi had been using into the holes, plugging them up as best as she could. OOC: Wow, you're right. I forgot there was even another team!

OOC: I put holes at the bottom of your boat...
Rhino's eyes flickered at Sayuri, as she re-did her same attack at the sail, but more stronger. He was becoming more angrier as the seconds ticked by. He saw that she took the valuable sand that he had bended to save their sale, into his coat. "Oh no you don't!" Rhino growled, as he began to feel the sand in Sayuri's pocket. He felt it enclosed in something hard and cold.... "Metal?" Rhino asked, smirking. He bended his sand out of her pocket, and bended it into the air. He forced the sand to spread onto his sail once more, fixing it for the fourth time that day. He breathed a sigh, and was almost ready to take a break.

Sachi’s grin widened as Heion destroyed her ring. Perfect. They’re falling into my trap. You remember that big hawk Sachi made? Well, it crumbled—not fully—and it sunk into the water. But when Heion destroyed the ring, Sachi silently moved the hawk toward the front of the boat. Then it suddenly dived out—full form and all—and zoomed to the very top as it sliced the sails away with its sharp wings. Sachi stuck out her tongue at her opponents and then grinned at Sayuri as she made Rhino’s plan backfire. “Nice!” Sachi said and then noticed that the water was getting deeper. She metalbended the door again into a small little bird where it flew to the sky and looked down onto their opponent’s boat. Then, she sandbended, keeping the sand straight to the ground as it crept closer, gathering huge balls of sands. Then, it finally rose out of the water—taking form of a… giant snowman. Okay, yea, it might look a bit stupid, but Sachi ignored it. The snowman wasn’t as big as the ship, but it was big enough to cause huge damage.

Heion continuted voraciously as he shouted out to Rhino, "Rhino, I said forget the sail! We don't need it! Just focus on the attacks coming from their boat! When they come, steal them! Horde the sand to yourself and they can't attack anymore!"
Heion pushed forward even faster. His hands were getting tired, but he didn't care. As long as he kept them moving as they were, it wouldn't hurt too badly. Besides, how good would it feel when he finally got to stop?

OOC: Your sail is still torn, I think? Rhino stared at the sky as Sachi's sand-hawk soared into the air. Rhino knew what it was headed for, their sale. He bended metal from their door, and threw it into the air. As it flew into the air, it transformed itself into an identical hawk, similiar to Sachi's, except that Rhino's was made of metal, and much larger. It flew at the hawk, and slammed it's head into the other's. The force of the metal against the sand forced the hawk to fall. Rhino then carefully bended the remains of the hawk, a few feet away from each other, just in case Sachi got any ideas. Then Sachi bended a very large... snowman? Rhino questioned her choice of creatures, but then realized that he was back in the race. He flipped his wrists, and most of the sand from the island soared into the air, building his creation: Santa Clause. Rhino thought that he would add some humor into the fight, and Sachi did have a huge, 3-story snowman, so why not make Santa? He was sure to bend some metal on him also, for armor, and then he forced more and more sand on 'Santa', until he was 5-stories tall. Then he forced it to walk forward, as the boat sailed past it. OOC: Hehe It's Christmas vs. Winter

The snowman gave a huge roar—if a snowman can roar. Sachi punched thin air and the snowman punched—but the wrong thing. His blow almost landed on Heion and Sachi winced. “Sorry!” She called over and then let the snowman aim for a small cabin. The roof immediately came off, along with the door and metal parts flew back to Sachi, Leon, and Sayuri’s boat. Sachi used the metal as an advantage as she bended it quickly, sending it again toward the icebergs. Then she swung her left arm and the snowman gave another might blow, hitting the weak parts of the bars that were supporting the lost sails. She used the other metal parts and used them to cover the holes in the boat. “Leon, Sayuri, can you guys take care of the icebergs?” A huge scrape told Sachi that the boat bumped into an iceberg.
Then, Sachi's mouth hung open as Rhino made a santa. "Nice one!" Sachi called back and she aimed another huge blow at Santa. Metal and sandbending with her free hand, Sachi sent a huge sand net toward the sails as it lowered it down. Then, she stomped once on the boat and a huge burrow of sand went under the water and rose from the bottom of the boat and shot toward Heion. Holes erupted from the bottom and Sachi grinned.

Rhino bended the Santa Clause to stomp both fists straight onto the middle of their boat, ripping the two pieces of wood apart. Rhino then stopped bending Santa, and bended the sand underneath the two pieces of boat, and separated them, fairly well apart. Then he bended 'Santa Clause' to grab a palm tree from the island, and slam it against the water, like some sort of sword. It collided with the water, forcing a wave to be born, aiming directly for the two pieces of the girl's used-to-be boat. Rhino then stopped bending Santa, to notice that the boat was sinking slowly. He quickly noticed many holes in the bottom of the boat, and tried to bend them shut, but if he tried he would loose the control of 'Santa'. He was going to take the risk. He let go of the pull on 'Santa's body, and bended sand from island, to swarm into the holes. "That'll take care of them for awhile!" Rhino exclaimed, as he jumped back, to see Santa floating on the water's top. "NO!" He yelled, as he bended the 'Santa' to an up-right position, this was extremely difficult since this was wet sand. He finally raised him, but he had no right leg, and there was a large hole in his hip. Rhino sighed, and pushed 'Santa' farther down. He was heaving his breaths now. Making 'Santa', and pulling him up, took basically every single drop of Chi that Rhino had in him. But, Rhino knew something for sure: He had to win this race!

Watching in horror as the boat split in two and the water rushed in, Sachi quickly recovered and shrugged. “Leon! Sayuri! Get on Mety the Snowman!” She quickly metalbended all the metal together and formed it into a giant snowman, similar to the sand one. How she got the name, Sachi had no clue but she plopped the snowman in the water and jumped on, the boat crumbling to the ground. Who said they had to keep on using the boat?
Smirking, Sachi beamed back and gave her opponents a cheerful wave before bending the sand around her smoothly. “Look on the bright side. Now that we have a lighter mass and we’re closer to the water, we can move faster.” She told her teammates and stick her hands into the water. A small rumbling sand filled the sea and the snowman shot forward. Sachi was spinning the sand underneath her as fast as she could—which—created a motor for the snowman. “It’s your job to steer Mety.” Sachi told her friends briskly.

Rhino watched as Sachi formed a snowman, and heard a name for it. "Mety The Snowman?" Rhino repeated to himself, as the 'snowman' formed it self, and Sachi hopped onto the snowman just in time, before the pieces of the boat sank. Rhino knew that Sachi was brilliant for thinking of that trick so quickly, and Rhino had just given them an advantage of going to the next area of the race. He couldn't believe what he had just done! He had to take the snowman somehow. He could just bend the snowman down, and then they would win, but he wanted to become more creative with the bending. He decided to bend the snowman into destroying it self. First, Rhino sped up the boat, catching up to Mety. Then he cracked his fingers and his neck, and got to work. He slowly lowered his hands down, his fingers outstretched. He moved both his feet apart, and then slowly back in a diagonal shape. Then Mety began to move, as if Rhino were to be metal-bending it. It turned to the right, facing the opposite of the island, and then Mety's arm flew up, and thrusted it itself at it's chest, forming a very large circular hole in it's middle. Sand fell from the middle, and fell to the water. "Heion, try speeding up the speed of the boat, while I take down the snowman!" Rhino yelled over to Heion. He then gulped, and began bending Mety more.
